Orca Card App

I led the end-to-end concept and design of a forward-thinking mobile app prototype aimed at transforming the commuter experience through seamless transit payments, real-time tracking, and intuitive trip planning. Developed as a forward-thinking concept at a time when mobile payment technology was not yet widely adopted, this concept explored how emerging mobile capabilities could replace traditional transit cards and simplify daily travel.

I was responsible for the full UX and visual design process, including user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity interface design. The app enabled users to scan their phone for transit access, add funds to ORCA and Good to Go accounts, plan routes, and track buses in real time. In addition to the product experience, we designed a supporting bus banner ad to promote awareness and adoption of the app.

The project stood out for its innovation and execution, and was selected by our instructor for further development, leading to a recorded pitch submitted to Sound Transit as a potential future-facing solution. This work highlights my ability to think ahead of technological trends, translate complex systems into intuitive user experiences, and bring a product concept to life from idea through promotion.
